Here's a look at the years that have passed and some of the events that have shaped my life.


2004 Appointed a deacon of my local church. Spoke to AITP and ICCC on offshore outsourcing. Left Meridian IQ. Acknowledged in a book. Joined freightquote.com on March 22. Proposed to Joni on April 17. Camping trip in the Ozarks. My Jeep got rear-ended. Josh married Kara on May 29. I hit a deer in Joni's car. Vacation to Wyoming. Paid off student loans on June 22. Pressed the flesh with George W. Bush in Lee's Summit on September 7.
2003 Visited Las Vegas. Quoted in a book. First cousin once removed Karlee Dawn Sandlian was born to Joel and Annie. ARC conference in Boston. Vacation to New Mexico. Camping in Wyoming. CLM conference in Chicago. Camping at Lake of the Ozarks. Surgery on my nasal septum (septoplasty).
2002 Transportation.com folded into Meridian IQ. Joel married Annie in Torrington on January 12. Met Petra in Wichita. Worst ice storm in KC history. New job title: Manager—Information Solutions. Earned my PMP certification. Vacation to Montana with Holly and Caleb for Montana's capitol centennial. CLM conference in San Francisco. Grandma Roberts passed away. Gabriel Adin Bailey was born.
2001 Visited Colorado Springs and Denver. E-Business department dissolved; transferred to Information Technology. The Waggoner Ranch in Jay Em, Wyoming, homesteaded by my great-grandparents, sold outside the family. Spoke at Sixth Annual AITP National Collegiate Conference in Chicago. New job role: directing Business Solutions Development. Cousins Josh and Brady graduated from UW; Joel from EWC (also Stacey from UW). Brady married Stacey in Thermopolis. Visited Denver and Breckenridge. Vacation in Washington DC.
2000 Ski trip to Breckinridge. "G6800 Project" debuted as Transportation.com. I was Employee #3; new job title: Project Manager. JavaOne in San Francisco. Finished MBA, with distinction. Waggoner family reunion in Nebraska. In September, took first trip back to Montana since 1995. Visited Holly and Caleb in Ponte Vedre Beach, Florida, in October. Baron died on November 25. Rolled out Project Rattlesnake, release 2 of www.transportation.com. Elected AITP Director of Online Services. Holly and Caleb moved to Kansas City.
1999 New job title: Programmer Analyst. Vacation in Puerto Rico. Ora married Enid. Holly married Caleb in Kansas City on August 15. Drafted for "G6800 Project" at Yellow. Re-elected AITP Director of Communications.
1998 Grandma Dorothy passed away. Third Annual AITP National Collegiate Conference in Evansville, Indiana: honored for building www.aitp.org. Switched to Enterprise Systems team at Yellow Technologies; new job title: Associate Programmer Analyst. Moved to post-college apartment in Johnson County; officially a yuppie. Cousin Kevin graduated from UW. Graduated valedictorian, summa cum laude, Bachelor of Science, Computer Information Systems, June 19. Kevin married Marna. Trip to Madison and Appleton, Wisconsin. Appointed to board of directors of Kansas City Association of Information Technology Professionals. Started MBA at Keller Graduate School of Management. ES team renamed Electronic Commerce. Montana, my blue-mitted ragdoll cat, is a Christmas present. Elected AITP Director of Communications.
1997 Mom and Dad moved to Riverside, Missouri. SIS team reorganized into Marketing Information Infrastructure; new job title: Marketing Information Systems Specialist. Second Annual AITP National Collegiate Conference in Madison, Wisconsin. New Macintosh: Power Computing PowerBase 240. Family trip back east: five new capitols under my belt; Dad's home and family in West Virginia; everything in Washinton, DC; Richmond, Virginia. Labor Day trip to Colorado Springs and Denver with Cooper. First Thanksgiving trip to see Plaza lights.
1996 Dad's dad died on February 20; I never met him. New job title: Senior Financial Aid Assistant. Started as student housing resident assistant. Elected vice-president of Association of Information Technology Professionals student chapter. Started cooperative education job with Sales Information System team at Yellow Freight System; new job title: SIS Analyst Intern. Started Web Site Design Team and began building DeVry Kansas City's first web site. Elected president of chapter.
1995 Took ACT in Kalispell. Scored perfectly on DeVry entrance exam and switched to DeVry Kansas City. Moved to Houston, Missouri. God answered prayers with full-tuition scholarship to DeVry. Vacation to Springfield, Illinois. Started classes on July 10. Met James, Ora, Cooper, Kevin and Ali. Began working in Financial Aid office; job title: Financial Aid Assistant. Found out I'm an INTJ, as are Coop and Ora. First major concert: Petra at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.
1994 Grandpa Leroy passed away, February 25. Eagle Court of Honor, May 3. Met Governor Racicot at annual Eagle Report to the Governor. Registered to vote on my birthday. Applied to go to DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona. Took SAT in Kalispell.
1993 Finished requirements for Eagle Scout, December.
1992 Last summer at Grandma and Grandpa's ranch. Driver's license. Order of the Arrow ordeal and Takachsin junior leader training at Camp Arcola. Summer camp at Camp Easton in Idaho.
1991 Family's first IBM-compatible PC: 8088 with 640K and 10MB. Bought my Mac Plus from Kent Duckworth. Two weeks at Grandma and Grandpa's ranch.
1990 Backpacked to Clayton Lake in the Jewel Basin with Dad and Troop 40. Two weeks at Grandma and Grandpa's ranch.
1989 Placed third in the county spelling bee. Second summer camp with Troop 40 at Grizzly Base. Honor camper at Kootenai. Burned my foot at the Montana Centennial Camporee in Helena. Dad started as new paster at Ronan Christian Church. Vacation to Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with Grandma and Grandpa. Moved to new house on Adams Street in Ronan. Started seventh grade with Miss Garrison. Home education adventure started after first quarter.
1988 Won grand prize for fifth grade in the Ronan Middle School science fair. First summer camp at Northwest Grizzly Base Camp with Troop 40. Summer camp at Kootenai. Vacation to Seattle. Started sixth grade with Mrs. Starkel and Mr. Gursky. Supported George Bush for president. Went deer hunting for the first time; brought Baron home on my lap.
1987 Won the Pablo Elementary spelling bee. Won the Pinewood Derby. Week at Kootenai Christian Camp, named honor camper. Moved to Ronan. Got a new Curtis Mathes TV to replace the old one, which was older than I. Started fifth grade with Mrs. Meili at Ronan Middle School and my career as a drummer.
1986 I was on recess when the Challenger exploded. My uncle Steve came to live with us. Moved to a new house in Pablo. Started fourth grade with Mr. Bristol, my favorite teacher.
1985 Moved to Pablo, Montana on June 1. Dad was new minister at Pablo Christian Church. Started third grade with Mrs. Anderson at Pablo Elementary.
1984 Moved back to Jay Em, Wyoming. Started second grade with Mrs. Lashley at Lingle Elementary. First experience on an Apple II, in Mr. Day's third grade classroom. Rode the bus to school every with my cousin Josh, who was in kindergarten. Joined the Cub Scouts.
1983 First grade with Ms. Wagner. Shuffled to second grade for reading.
1982 Started kindergarten for the second time at Longfellow Elementary with Ms. Selzer. Pulled through.
1981 President Reagan took office. (I remember so it counts.) Started kindergarten for the first time. Dropped out. Family's first computer: TI 99/4a.
1980 Moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. (Mom and Dad were dorm parents for Platte Valley Bible College.)
1979 Holly Michelle (my little sister) born in Wheatland at 7:15 PM, November 30, in a blizzard.
1978 Moved to Wheatland.
1977
1976 Dad turned 29. Born in Torrington, Wyoming, June 15, 11:15 PM. Went home to Jay Em. Aunt Lennie married Uncle Craig. Moved to Wamsutter.
